Helping NYC’s Older Adults with Tech—One Block at a Time

Knocking on Doors. Fixing Tech. Changing Lives.

You ever see someone you love freeze up trying to use their phone?

Not because they aren't smart. Not because they're "too old."
But because the tech we all rely on every day is racing ahead without slowing down for anyone.

A button moves. A password won't work. A scam email looks exactly like the real thing. And next thing you know, someone who used to feel confident starts to feel lost, frustrated, or even ashamed for needing help.

That shouldn't happen.
Not in 2025.
Not in New York City.

And that's where I come in.

The Human Side of Tech

I'm Dave. I started Boomernology to bring the human side back to tech.

No call centers.
No 5-minute videos.
No robotic instructions like "turn it off and on again."

Just real, in-person help. With kindness. With patience. With a chair pulled up next to you and time set aside just for you.

I work with baby boomers, seniors, and older adults all over Manhattan, but this July, I'm going all in.

I'm walking up Central Park West from 59th Street to 110th.
Flyers in hand. Smile on my face.
Knocking on doors. Saying something no app or chatbot ever will:

"Hi, I'm Dave. I help older adults with tech. And I care."

Sounds simple. But if you've been scared to press the wrong button or embarrassed to ask for help, that one sentence can mean the world.

Let Me Tell You a Story

Not long ago, I was helping a woman in her 70s with her iPhone. She looked at me and said, "I used to run a business. Now I feel like an idiot trying to open my email."

That hit me.

This wasn't about email. It was about confidence. Dignity. Independence.

So we sat together.
We breathed.
We took it one screen at a time.

And by the end of the session? She sent her first social post in weeks. By herself. With a smile. She even said, "Next time, can you show me how to organize photos?"

That's not just tech support. That's care.

What I Offer (And What I Don't)

I don't offer quick fixes. I'm not here to upsell you a subscription or give you a 25-minute crash course that you will forget by dinner.

Here's what I do:

  • Set up phones, tablets, computers, printers

  • Fix Wi-Fi problems and email issues

  • Show you how to safely shop, browse, and avoid scams

  • Teach you how to use apps, social media, and tools that help you connect

And I do it in person, patiently, and at your pace—not mine.

You Deserve to Feel Good About Tech

Because this isn't really about learning to use a phone or update a password.

It's about feeling less alone.
It's about knowing you're not "too old" to learn.
It's about getting your time, freedom, and joy back.

We all deserve that.

If You Live on Central Park West…

Or if your parent or neighbor or loved one does…

And they've been stuck, frustrated, or afraid of "messing something up" with their tech…

I'll be walking your block this month.
